STRANSF — a haulier's website and administration

A public site, an API and a back office for a haulage company, on hosting that runs no Node.js

7
public pages
3
subdomains: site, API, administration

The context

A transport and general trading company in Côte d'Ivoire, with no online presence, and shared hosting as the whole budget: PHP and MySQL available, no permanent Node.js server, no SSH access.

The problem

The site is written in Next.js, which assumes a Node server to render its pages. The hosting provides none, and switching host was not the option chosen.

What I did

The site is exported as static files — HTML, CSS and JavaScript uploaded over FTP — and calls a Laravel 12 API deployed the ordinary PHP way on a subdomain. The back office, built with Filament, sits on a third subdomain. The three parts share the MySQL database, with API access held by Sanctum.

The outcome

Seven public pages, an API client and an administration panel, designed to fit the hosting constraints rather than work around them.

Technologies

  • Next.js
  • TypeScript
